More a master piece than a dress; the history of the haute couture is now part of an exhibition at L’hotel de Ville for the first time in Paris
It was 1858 when Charles Frédérick Worth opened his maison couture in Paris at rue de la Paix. The clients were demanding, and the dresses, unique. He decided to put a label on it, and then the Haute Couture was born.
Since then, we had great names behind the beautiful dresses on the red carpets around the world. “Paris Haute Couture” tells us the story about the Haute Couture for the first time in Paris. We can see the most beautiful dresses picked especially for the occasion that were shown at Musée Galliera.
Worth, Lanvin, Vionnet, Chanel, Molyneux, Nina Ricci, Balenciaga, Grès, Balmain, Carven, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent, Courrèges, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lacroix, between others are the names we can check there.
This exhibition is more than just a story about pretty dresses, is the history about the luxury market, how it started until now. This is the last week, which is free by the way. Some pictures bellow to tempt you to visit it.
