Riccardo Tisci really knows how to keep the show running. After presenting his masterful lingerie inspired collection for Givenchy in New York, and opening a new boutique in Milan, is the ad campaign’s turn to be in everyone’s mouth.
And because a masterful collection demand a masterful campaign, this time the creative director casted 27 models, the entire Givenchy family and some new faces.
Among new faces are Isis Bataglia, Lexi Boling, Leila Goldkuhl, Kris Gottschalk, Imaan Hammam, Issa Lish, Lineisy Montero and Greta Varlese.
And among the veterans are Mariacarla Boscono, Natalia Vodianova, Lara Stone, Joan Smalls, Miranda Kerr, Candice Swanepoel, Iselin Steiro and Gemma Ward.
The campaign takes the format of a postcard which is accompanied by a short text by the singer Antony Hegarty, now known as Anohni: “I am a child on the river, and love waits downstream: A waterfall to steal my breath, and change my mind,” that Tisci thinks “… in a few words, he said everything”.
Photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott in lower Manhatan, the Givenchy ad campaign included Giovanni Bianco for art direction and Carine Roitfeld for styling, and it’s more than a fashion statement, it’s message of unity and diversity.
