Jean Paul Gaultier stops RTW Collections

Sad news in the fashion industry, Jean Paul Gaultier is set to stop Women’s and Man’s ready-to-wear collections and accessories after his, now last, women’s collection hit the runway September 27 during Paris Fashion Week.

This decision will affect a few dozen employees and by consequence the loss of a license for Italian manufacturer Gibò Co. SpA.

According to a letter sent to WWD, the brand took this resolution has a fresh restart where the famous french designer will have more time to dedicate himself to the haute couture collections, fragrances and possible new collaborations.

Gaultier also continues to create stage costumes for musicians like Kylie Minogue, Mylène Farmer and Conchita Wurst.
And speaking about new collaborations, last week the designer flew to Gothenburg, Sweden, to stage a fashion show for the one-off line he designed for Scandinavian fashion chain Lindex, celebrating its 60th anniversary.

We’re sad to hear this but, we know for sure this will be a fresh and happy new depart for this iconic house.
